Lonnie Preis 0:02
Drop the beat.
Lonnie Preis 0:09
Now, here we go. Ready do the beat.
Lonnie Preis 0:19
Up. Welcome. Keep going. Keep it. Keep it going. Welcome to the first the only one and only ever see you cougars. Welcome, ladies. This is, oh the energy. We are so thankful you're here. You're here with the den dwellers. Miss Kylie Walker, give it up for Miss Kylie Walker, I'm Lonnie priest, this is, this is like, this is like new territory. You're like pioneers in a new world. Are you ready for this? We're the prototype. We have. Katie Cole Jules Fisher, I'm gonna let them talk a little bit about themselves. This is about you guys, not about me. Don't look at my don't look at my don't look at my notes. Here, miss, go. Okay, first of all, first question. We're just gonna get right into it. Okay, a little bit about getting to know you. So what do each of you do here at Clear University? What do you do?
Katee Cole 1:14
Well, I'm Chief of Staff, which my husband and I always joke that neither of us know what that means, but I do a little bit of everything, I think that I am it just makes sure that the strategic direction of the college is healthy. And I work with all of you, so a lot of everything,
Lonnie Preis 1:36
okay, I like it. Little bit of this kind of mix it up. Jules, how about you
Julea Fisher 1:41
funny tidbit. I remember when I first started, I asked Katie not to be rude. I was like, what do you do as Chief of Staff? So we always make that joke, and I don't think I could answer it. No, she wears a lot of hats, but um, I'm Jules. I was a student at Cleary previously, and did some student working positions. And then after I graduated, I got hired full time as the Enrollment Management Coordinator, which was something I did in admissions, and I worked the front desk, and then I actually just moved about a month and a half ago to financial aid. So it's been a kind of crazy transition as school begins to start, but it's been good.
Lonnie Preis 2:18
Okay, okay, so you guys pretty much run the show. You told us what you do, but ready for this. What do you really do? What do you really do here?
Katee Cole 2:28
I provide comic relief. Love it.
Lonnie Preis 2:31
Okay, Jules,
Julea Fisher 2:34
I'm just here to be a positive, positive vibe to everyone.
Lonnie Preis 2:38
The vibe, yeah, comic relief. Vibe. That's what we're feeling in here. You can feel it in here, can't you? The humidity, the moist. I mean, it's just, it's heavy, the must. It's awesome. Okay, all right, here we go. The next one, last question about this. If you were to give yourself a title, not but it's not your current title, what would you what would you call
Julea Fisher 2:57
yourself? I don't know. It's an interesting question.
Lonnie Preis 3:01
Why you think about this is tough. Why you think about it? Miss Kylie Walker. You want to tell them what you came up with for yourself.
Speaker 1 3:09
I don't remember. I think it was like leadership of legendary
Lonnie Preis 3:16
fun creator, LFC. She was the LFC, legendary fun creator. I think I like something like that.
Katee Cole 3:22
So awesome. Chad GPT told me that I'm the chief of sass. Oh, Chief of sass. Also love it. Never seen Monty Python. We talk a lot at home about the Ministry of Silly Walks. So I could, I could lead that. Okay, okay,
Julea Fisher 3:36
I don't really have one. I just started my new role, so I don't, I don't know what to give myself. Is it fun? Fun little thing, jewels of all trades. I mean, yeah, you know, part of a lot of stuff. So Jack of all trades, sir, jewels
Lonnie Preis 3:49
of all trades. Even better. Okay, all right. So now can i I'm gonna need a drum roll. This is our little segment called Roll with it. Ready? Here we go. We're going roll with it. Are you ready? I asked you all topics. I asked y'all topics? Yes. And I'm like, we will build this podcast around what you want to talk about. You said nothing, and you said cake. So we're gonna roll with this segment, all right? And you might see where this goes once we get rolling. Okay? Cake. Quick answers too. Favorite kind of cake,
Katee Cole 4:22
cold, multi layered chocolate cake, cake, a real fudgy chocolate cake. Fudgy? Interesting is that a real word? Fudgy? Fudgy. It is now, Okay,
Lonnie Preis 4:31
excellent. What kind of cake would you like? Could
Julea Fisher 4:33
not be more opposite? I love vanilla cake with like a butter cream, frosting or confetti cake.
Lonnie Preis 4:39
Okay, let's dig down a little bit with the word vanilla that you just said. Vanilla is using a lot of things, but where, where do you also like vanilla flavoring or besides not baking. But what do you like vanilla in your coffee? What's your go to?
Julea Fisher 4:55
Nice vanilla latte? Okay, every morning.
Katee Cole 4:58
All right, every day. Every day.
Lonnie Preis 5:00
How about you vanilla? Anything
Katee Cole 5:03
I like, I don't like vanilla people, you know, boring
Lonnie Preis 5:07
people, okay, all right, it's pretty vanilla. What you don't like? Okay? Situations. All right, let's, let's dig down opposite of vanilla people. What would you call somebody who's not a vanilla person? Zesty, zesty, spicy, spicy. What's the zestiest thing you can think of that you've eaten?
Julea Fisher 5:25
Um, I don't know. I don't know. Maybe a pizza, zesty pizza like that, little like seasoning you get on the Little Caesars. Oh, yeah, um, pizza. I don't know what that's called. Do you ask for it, or do you just get it on the side? Sprinkle it on top, makes it way better, nice.
Katee Cole 5:41
So one time, we were in Traverse City, and they had an atomic burger on the menu, and we ordered it, and the waitress literally looked at us and said, Are you sure? And did you do? I didn't eat it, but one of my kids did, and he couldn't stop chewing it because it would hurt so bad. So he just had to eat the whole thing, bite after bite and just tears. And he finished it. He finished it. I love it. And she brought him a milkshake.
Lonnie Preis 6:06
Speaking of milkshake, can you think, let's think of a song that has the word milkshake in it. Can you guys think of
Katee Cole 6:13
one? All I know is, if the milkshake is going to bring the boys to the yard, you better be cleaning and mowing and doing some stuff,
Lonnie Preis 6:20
absolutely. So when you see, when you think of the word yard, what do you think of jewels, the courtyard? Oh, the courtyard here. Excellent. First thing came in my brain, first thinking, speaking of court. Have you guys ever been to court?
Julea Fisher 6:35
No, I haven't, but you did. Oh, really, your son's field trip?
Lonnie Preis 6:39
Oh, yes, that's when I've never been you've never been at court for anything
Katee Cole 6:43
else. Yeah, field trip, most recent
Lonnie Preis 6:46
field trip. Thinking of field trips, I just this is on my mind. Jules, what's your favorite field trip growing up when you were going through grade school? Because I'm sure you guys did a bunch of
Julea Fisher 6:54
field trips. Yeah, I um, the most vivid one I can remember is like going to the museum. The Henry Ford Museum loved it. It was awesome. There's so many, like, historic things like, um, the Abraham Lincoln chair that he got shot in and assassinated. It's actually there, yeah, the Rosa Park bus.
Lonnie Preis 7:15
Nice, pretty cool. What do you tell us about Rosa Parks? What do you know about Rosa Parks? She started
Julea Fisher 7:20
a revolutionary moment. Yes, she is the moment, right? I love it.
Lonnie Preis 7:26
We went from cake to Rosa Parks journey. This is how we do roll with it. Let's finish with the roll. Drum roll. Let's hit it. Oh, by the way, student life.edu. If you have comments you think we're you got a segment where you want to do? You want another topic like cake? You want to roll? Have us roll with just hit us up student life@cleary.edu and get on there, because we have a trivia question coming at the end where you have a chance to win. What do we got to win? Chance to win?
Speaker 2 7:57
Jimmy John's gift card.
Lonnie Preis 7:59
Jimmy John's gift card. All right, we're now, are we are now going to enter into a segment called behind the curtain.
Katee Cole 8:08
Sound Effect, a curtain, curtain opening, an exhausted Oh, okay,
Lonnie Preis 8:16
pizza sounds like a timer. My pizza rolls are done. Kind of your your awesome back there. I don't know what buttons you are pushing, but keep doing it. Pizza Rolls, microwave. We're not going with
Katee Cole 8:28
road or or air fried oven, oven.
Lonnie Preis 8:33
I like it. Oven, a little bit crispier, crispier than a microwave. You ever tried deep fried Oreos? No, made them once at home. Phenomenal. That's this a great topic for another time. Okay, behind the curtain. Chance to get you guys to know you, a little bit more about you. All right, if you could meet anybody on this planet who is alive that you have not met yet, and all we need is our name. Who would it be?
Katee Cole 8:58
You're going first. No, you are. Well, I just watched a show with John Hammond, and I'd love to meet John
Lonnie Preis 9:04
Hammond. That is so interesting. What show were you watching? Nate, friends and neighbors, we watched that, and now he's in another show called land man. Yeah, hype out. Whoever's Tyler Sheridan, please his Taylor. Sheridan, sorry, I butchered his name. He created land man. Hit us up. Okay, who would you like to meet?
Julea Fisher 9:23
Um, I don't know. Maybe any one of the Beatle members of the band. I love the Beatles. Do you
Lonnie Preis 9:29
know which one's alive that you can meet? I think Paul McCartney. Paul McCartney is alive. Okay, here's your next question. I'll go back to you. John Hamm walks in this room. What's the first question you ask him?
Katee Cole 9:40
I asked him, How do you get these other two out of the room?
Lonnie Preis 9:43
Nice, okay, walks into the room. What do you ask? You can't obviously copy your answer.
Julea Fisher 9:51
Um, Why'd the band break up? Interesting, just kidding. I'd probably ask him like I. How, why you did music for so long. Okay, you still what started, was started.
Lonnie Preis 10:05
What started? I like it. Okay, now, and let's remember, we have kids watching here, but you have, you have an activity you can do with that person, but it can't be related to what they do for a living. So Paul, you can't go play music with them. John, you can't go to acting class. What's an activity you would want to do with them? A hobby you like that? You're like, Hey Paul, John, let's go do this. I play
Katee Cole 10:29
pickleball with John. Ham, nice.
Julea Fisher 10:31
And maybe go to, like, love it, Kai. You'd what I'd probably go to, like, Cedar Point. Oh, my God, that's that's how you get to know someone. Oh, how they love
Lonnie Preis 10:46
it. You don't care about heights and all that. Okay, excellent. All right, now we're gonna go a little bit deeper, okay, with someone also that you obviously know on a more personal lever level, who is this? Who's a person in your life that you don't see every day, and they could be passed away that impacted you in your past, you know. So who's a person from your past that you're not still living with or you don't see frequently that really had an impact on you?
Katee Cole 11:13
You're gonna make me go first every time. Can I say John ham? No, that would be impressive. I mean, not to be cliche, but probably my grandpa. He's passed away, but they lived next door, growing up really big part of my life. And I think the sentiment is just simplicity, like leading a simple and genuine life and appreciating small things
Lonnie Preis 11:35
Excellent. You kind of answered the next question, which we're gonna stick with. Katie here to finish up with this. If your grandpa is right here, he walks in the door, what's, what's something you'd like to say to
Katee Cole 11:46
him, ah, that he had made an impact on my life, and that I wish that, I wish that he could meet my kids. And you know he would just, just love to hear more about
Lonnie Preis 11:59
him. Yeah. Yeah. Awesome. Thanks for sharing that. Okay, okay, we are shifting gears into our final segment. Do you have a little thing where you go? You got that one handy? If not, that's no big deal. This is called Rapid rapid fire. Okay, so it's a little tough with two people, but it's gonna be back and forth. Don't be peeking back and forth. First thing that comes to mind, got it this is gonna give us a chance to this isn't roll with it. This is going to be chance to get you to know you a little bit better, both in a fun way. All right, here we go. We'll go back and forth, and I'll go, boom, boom. Then back to you like that favorite sandwich,
Julea Fisher 12:46
Turkey, Reuben, Chipotle, avocado, chicken from Panera Bread, okay?
Lonnie Preis 12:51
Girl, all right, if you could watch only one TV show for the rest of your life, what would it
Julea Fisher 12:56
be? The Office?
Lonnie Preis 12:58
Friends, very nice. The animal. Katie, you are most scared of
Katee Cole 13:05
snakes.
Julea Fisher 13:07
Okay, it's got to be something different. I probably say sharks. But the groundhogs
Speaker 1 13:11
have been scared. They've scared me too.
Lonnie Preis 13:13
They scared me too. Best way to top a hot dog,
Julea Fisher 13:17
ketchup, mustard. Onion. Oh.
Katee Cole 13:19
Onion. Ketchup, mustard, onion relish.
Lonnie Preis 13:23
And, okay, all right, if you could do this, we're going to get a little deeper. If you could do one thing, if you could have a do over from something you've done in your past,
Katee Cole 13:34
you would probably be more involved in college, I think, in not just getting good grades, but networking, learning, growing instead of just grades on paper,
Lonnie Preis 13:46
student life activities. Yeah, come on, girl. How about you watch how your thing is flying around there.
Julea Fisher 13:54
Sorry. I would probably I quit volleyball in high school, I'd probably continue to play volleyball all throughout my high school. Excellent, yeah, we
Katee Cole 14:04
were gonna join the team. We
Lonnie Preis 14:06
were okay. We'll get ready. We hope that we have viable here sometime soon. All right. Quirkiest thing about you, quirky it's a fun word.
Julea Fisher 14:15
Don't even know what it means, gotta go first. I have no idea you can you
Lonnie Preis 14:19
know each other pretty well. You can ask this one for each other.
Katee Cole 14:25
Jules is scared of the dentist.
Julea Fisher 14:26
I am scared of the dentist. I don't even know if that's quirky, but
Lonnie Preis 14:30
scared of the dentist. Yeah, we'll give you that one. You got one for
Julea Fisher 14:34
Katie's got really dry humor, so
Lonnie Preis 14:39
dry humor and a fear of the dentist. Good. We good with that. Okay, let's move on the I like this question. All right. Who are we to you? Okay, weirdest thing you've ever eaten?
Katee Cole 14:50
Weirdest thing I've ever eaten. I ate meal worms and at summer camp in fifth grade, and they were moving. They were moving. Yeah, did you feel a move? I blocked that out. Oh, I blocked that outside. No.
Speaker 2 15:03
Adventurous eater. Have you guys ever seen the movie How to Eat Fried Worms? I've heard about it. Wasn't it a book?
Speaker 1 15:09
No, yeah, it's a book too, yeah. But crazy idea teaches you different ways that you can eat
Speaker 2 15:14
worms.
Lonnie Preis 15:15
I love that. That's crazy. I've used that for some pre gay motivational talks. That's story for another time. Weirdest thing you've ever eaten, Jules,
Julea Fisher 15:24
probably alligator. But a lot of people think mac and cheese and ketchup is weird. Oh, not at all. Yeah, not all. I agree,
Lonnie Preis 15:32
but okay, we'll go with it. Biggest pet peeve
Julea Fisher 15:37
people who take too long
Lonnie Preis 15:40
to do anything. To do anything.
Katee Cole 15:41
Okay? I hate when you go into a public bathroom and the doors shut all the way, so you have to look underneath to know if you can open the door or not.
Lonnie Preis 15:51
When you just knock.
Katee Cole 15:52
I know, but I don't want to do that either.
Lonnie Preis 15:55
So every bathroom door you come across, we can expect Katie Cole to be bending over.
Katee Cole 16:00
Yeah, I'll just, I'll just walk out. I'll just do it. I hate it.
Lonnie Preis 16:05
Has to check that's a quirky thing. I think that checks off the quirky box. I like it. Okay. Last question on rapid fire. Describe yourself in three words. Only three words
Julea Fisher 16:16
has to go first. Fun, fun, loving,
Lonnie Preis 16:20
adventurous, nice, just like being here on the first ever podcast. Clear, he's on cage. Okay? Cougars on cage.
Katee Cole 16:26
Yes, genuine, sassy and the funny. I think I'm pretty funny. You're hilarious. Thank you.
Lonnie Preis 16:35
You concur. You guys both concur with that. Yeah, okay,
Katee Cole 16:38
did you say generous for yours? No, oh, you should. Jules is super generous. Thank you. We should describe each other three six words,
Lonnie Preis 16:48
yeah, we won't do that. Okay, the moment you've all been waiting for. Don't say the answer. If you know this, Kylie, this is it. This is the moment. Remember, everyone student life@cleary.edu here is our trivia question for the day. It's going to be a little personal here. I'm a Milwaukee Brewers fan. They just won 12 games in a row for the third time in their existence. And the thing about it is that in Milwaukee, if the Brewers win 12 games in a row, George Webb an establishment gives out free burgers to the entire city. That doesn't happen anywhere else. It's happened two other times, two other years in their existence. Go to student life@cleary.edu and tell us what those years are. Love, it. Got it. Got it. You guys can do it yourself, or you can't do it right now. Sweet, okay, obviously you can look it up. Student life@cleary.edu ladies, you just broke it's like we broke new ground, new frontier. How do you feel for those people who are going to ask to come on this? Can you give them any piece of advice is this? Tell them, well, be honest. How does this feel to be here and doing this? Are you scared like the dentist, or is it enjoyable? What do you what do you think
Katee Cole 17:57
I mean? I feed off your energy. I appreciate your enthusiasm. I knew it was easier than I thought it would be,
Lonnie Preis 18:03
is it? It's weird hearing your voice, that's odd.
Julea Fisher 18:06
Yeah, I felt a little unprepared, but the questions were great. Okay, again, feed off your energy. It's awesome.
Lonnie Preis 18:12
We don't want you to have to prepare anything. Just get, I know, hop in the car, go for a ride, head out of here and be like, Oh, that's easier than going to the dentist. Okay? We thank you so much. Let's give her a round of applause whenever we got to Katie Cole Jules Fisher, for the first time ever, cougars, uncaged, we will see you next time. Let's get a drum roll, cougars, until next time. You.
