Born ready and ready. They are born, ready and ready. Let's go. All right. So we want to get to know you a little bit. We want the people to get to know you a little bit. So tell us a little bit. This is easy,

Lonnie Preis  0:49
obviously, what what year you are, if you're involved in anything besides women's soccer, maybe what your major is would be great, and maybe where hometown is to start with. For each of you

Ashley Stover  1:01
Can I go first All right. I'm from lampston, Michigan. I only do soccer and my major corporate accounting,

Lonnie Preis  1:10
corporate accounting, are you that's what you want to do, accounting for a corporation? Are you sure you're not sure. Okay, that sounds intense. That sounds intense, but I like it. Um.

Emily Krampitz  1:20
I'm from Grand Rapids, and I'm a junior. I just transferred this year. I'm on the women's soccer team, and I'm also on salt, which I'm on salt with you nice. And, yeah, that's about it.

Lonnie Preis  1:33
Love it. Love it. Okay, what do you love most about Cleary? The people. What about the people?

Ashley Stover  1:43
I mean, we have our dorm, and it's like, my favorite people, because there's them we have, I like my roommate. And then, don't know, you can walk anywhere on campus, and there's people that say, hi, you pretty much know everybody. I like that. It's small. Yeah, everybody kind of knows each other. You walk by by and like, say hi, because you you're seeing them all the time. Yeah, love it.

Lonnie Preis  2:07
Alright, this is a little bit tougher question. What is your favorite exact spot on cleary's campus

Emily Krampitz  2:20
field, the soccer field also, we kind of like made a little spot, yeah, so in between, what was it Chrysler, yeah, and there's like a big grass area, and there's some trees and stuff. We laid out some blankets a couple weeks ago and listened to music and tanned and fell asleep.

Lonnie Preis  2:39
Love it. So by Chrysler, just on one of the

Emily Krampitz  2:41
Yeah, like, trees, yeah, under the trees, because there's, like, the parking lot there, and you go down a bit, yeah, it was really nice.

Lonnie Preis  2:47
Love it. Kylie, I love this. We're just finding out all these little nooks and crannies. I love that very specific spot. Awesome. All right, so we're gonna get into our first segment. It is called roll with it. All right, and get ready for this and your mind's dialed in, because we're about to go on a we're about to go on a journey. All right, you guys said, and we'll go back and forth. You guys said that you want to talk about the world. I asked what's the topic you'd like to talk about? We said, the world. So if we talk about the world, Emily, what's one place in the world you would like to visit, and why

Emily Krampitz  3:20
I would love to visit somewhere warm. Ooh, I just love tropical or like nature vibes, awesome.

Lonnie Preis  3:29
Okay, speaking of, speaking of nature, okay, what's the thing in nature that you're most scared of?

Ashley Stover  3:36
I guess if a bear comes,

Lonnie Preis  3:39
if a bear, I'd be scared. I would be scared of a bear, too. What do you do exactly, speaking of a bear, though, makes me think of a zoo. What's your favorite animal in a zoo?

Emily Krampitz  3:50
That's a really hard question. I like the Tigers. Tigers.

Lonnie Preis  3:56
Speaking of tigers, how you thinking about the baseball team? Do you follow baseball? Yeah.

Ashley Stover  4:01
Aren't they doing, like, on a losing streak? They just won last night. Okay, I'm the ups on the UPS. Love to hear

Lonnie Preis  4:07
it, yes, yes. Speaking of losing streaks, what's, what's the team that you feel like is the one that loses? You know, first, first thing that comes by when you think of a team that has a lot of losing streaks,

Emily Krampitz  4:17
originally, I would think the lions like but they've been doing good, right? Yeah, yeah,

Lonnie Preis  4:22
going back to the lions. Who's your favorite lions? Player? Four, no, who's your favorite athlete?

Ashley Stover  4:31
I mean, I know, like Alex Morgan, Messi Ronaldo, absolutely.

Lonnie Preis  4:36
Alex Morgan, speaking of Alex Morgan, okay, what? What's Do you remember any, any game from her, watching her play? No, I can't

Ashley Stover  4:47
think she's a forward, right? Yeah.

Lonnie Preis  4:49
Okay. Well, speaking of Alex Morgan, if you could, if you could see any soccer game in any venue where to be? Barcelona? Oh, Barcelona. Speaking. Barcelona. Where have you? Have you ever traveled to Barcelona? Or you have what's your favorite spot in Barcelona?

Ashley Stover  5:08
I went to all the Van Gogh, all of what he created. I went

Lonnie Preis  5:16
to the museum of Van Gogh. Yeah. Love it. Speaking of museums, what's the favorite? What's your best childhood memory from a museum you went to?

Emily Krampitz  5:23
Oh, when I was younger, me, my family went to, okay, it's like, kind of a museum, but it's called the Air Zoo, and so it's got, like, like, all aircraft, like, history stuff like that.

Lonnie Preis  5:34
Yeah, nice, cool. Speaking of aircraft, what's your what's your great, greatest memory of being on a plane? Do you have a memory from being on an airplane?

Ashley Stover  5:42
I was on a plane crash,

Lonnie Preis  5:45
yeah, what happened? We got to know this.

Ashley Stover  5:52
You survived. We were landing. Was like a mini plane, like you just go around the lake, yeah? And we were landing, and this driver, don't know what he was doing, and so the wheel caught the fence, and then we went to like a nosedive. Nobody died, though,

Lonnie Preis  6:10
oh my gosh, we're stopping right there. Ladies, you just rolled with it. We went from the world. We went to Alex Morgan, to the zoo, lions, bears, tigers, oh my and then back to a plane crash that you survived. That's amazing. That's great. That's amazing. Thank you guys for rapid fire your minds. You're dialed in. You're dialed in. Okay, next segment is called behind the curtain. We're gonna get to know you. Okay, yeah, we're gonna get to know you, by the way. Nice. We have had, we have had some people want to do this in accents. I don't know if you like to talk with an accent. I don't think you want to hear that. What do you got? Do you have a favorite? No, all right. Or we could talk

Lonnie Preis  6:47
like this, really quiet. What? What is that that's a little too quiet. ASMR. ASMR, I don't know what that is, it's good.

Speaker 1  7:03
What is it? That's what you're always doing when you do the like whispering ASMR, oh,

Lonnie Preis  7:08
okay, it's up to you if you want to do this whole segment

Lonnie Preis  7:11
like this, or just talk regular. What do you prefer? It's a little weird to keep talking like that. But what do you want?

Lonnie Preis  7:19
Okay, can you get we can do this. Okay, we're gonna get behind the curtain. First question, I'll start with you. Emily, okay, if you could meet anybody on this planet, who would it be alive, who you have not met yet? Alive that I've not met yet? Yes, you I the first

Emily Krampitz  7:43
person was a dead person. I came to my mind,

Lonnie Preis  7:45
well, let's go with that one. Walt Disney, I love that answer. Okay, hang on to that one. All right. Ashley, one person, anybody you'd like to meet, they can be dead. Sure, sure. We'll do that. Bob Marley, Oh, very good. So next question, if Bob and Walt walked in the door right here, what would you ask them? First question, first question, you'd ask them

Emily Krampitz  8:17
how old he was when he came up with the idea for Disney. Nice.

Lonnie Preis  8:22
How about you? What would you ask Bob? I want to know what goes on in his mind. In his mind. Oh, you that that take a while? Have you seen the movie? Okay, nice. Last question about these guys. If you could spend some time with them, couple hours to hang out. You can't do anything music with Bob, you can't go to Walt Disney. You can't go to Disney World with Walt. What would you do with them? What would you do for two hours? You get to hang with them.

Emily Krampitz  8:50
Honestly, just talk like talk, listen to music.

Ashley Stover  8:53
Chill. Okay. I go surfing with Bob. Surfing.

Lonnie Preis  9:00
Nice. I like that. You I don't think Walt would probably serve I don't think you would Okay,

Lonnie Preis  9:06
okay, all right, well, we're gonna turn up the vine. That's, that's, that's, you did a great job, better than the last group we did. Talking quietly. All right, next question on a little more personal level, okay, okay, who was the person from your past? They could still be alive or passed away, who is a person from your past who has impacted you the most? And and why?

Ashley Stover  9:27
My mom?

Lonnie Preis  9:29
All right? Why? Why? What is she? And obviously, parents impact us, but what is she? How has she impacted you the greatest? What has she taught you?

Ashley Stover  9:42
Don't know she's she's there to support every game, to always be kind in life. And that gets you far. Don't know.

Lonnie Preis  9:56
No, that's great. Always there constant, that constant love, love it. And. How about you,

Emily Krampitz  10:01
I would say, besides my parents, one of my older sisters, I feel like she's just, yeah, always super supportive, and like she's very level headed too. So she's like, a good person to talk about, like, deep conversations with, because she'll see, like, both sides of things. We kind of like bounce off of each other a lot. Awesome.

Lonnie Preis  10:20
Okay, this might be a little tough to answer and to put in a few words, but let's say your sister and your mom, you're talking to them. What? What would you like to say to them? Obviously, you probably talk to them all the time, but if you could say something for the world to hear to them, obviously, you know, you know, what would you say to them?

Ashley Stover  10:42
Don't know. My mom, like when, each time we go on a vacation, she makes a friend with like every single person there. So she literally talks to everyone.

Speaker 2  10:51
That's all the question,

Lonnie Preis  10:53
what would you like to say to her? If you could say anything for the world to hear you? Go first.

Emily Krampitz  11:05
I would just say, like, Thank you for always, like, being supportive and always being like, I don't know you're putting me on the spot.

Lonnie Preis  11:15
Oh, I know, I know. It's not easy. That's a tough one. It's a tough one. Yeah, no, you summed it up. Great. Thank you for always being there and supporting me. I mean, supporting me. I mean, now the whole world knows how special she is to you. And in addition to the rest of your family, what would you like to say to your mom? I love you, Mom.

Lonnie Preis  11:36
Yeah, that's Hey, that's as a parent, that's all that's needed, all right? And you just said it to the world. This is going worldwide. Going worldwide, 1000s, hundreds of people will see All right? Next segment is going to be a little more. You have to be thinking you're going to be spot on here. This is called Rapid Fire. Okay, okay, I'm not very good at rapid fire. Well, get ready, because we're about to go. We got about we're gonna go back and forth. First thing that comes to mind with you start with her first. These. For these ones, well, I'm gonna go to her first, but the second question is gonna go back and forth. All right, ready? Some of these are more serious. Some of these are fun. Kylie, we ready? Back there. Yeah, you're ready. Oh, rapid fire. Here we go. Ashley, favorite sandwich,

Speaker 2  12:18
peanut butter, jelly. Nice.

Speaker 3  12:21
I just ate one. Yes, you peanut butter and jelly too. Okay, both of

Lonnie Preis  12:27
you Crunchy or smooth cream. Okay, got it. If you could only watch one TV show for the rest of your life. What would it be? Outer Banks? Oh, I like it.

Speaker 2  12:36
Gotta be different. I just started a new one. What's Oh, it's cold. Oh, it's cold SpongeBob.

Lonnie Preis  12:52
I don't think that's the one she just started, but I like it. Okay, back to you advice. One word advice for freshmen. Freshmen, you should, boom, one word,

Ashley Stover  13:04
don't hide in your dorm. Go out and meet people and doing stuff.

Lonnie Preis  13:09
Don't hide in your okay. That's okay. It's not one word, but, oh, one word. That's all right. You did. Oh, sorry. 15 words is fine. One word can you do? One word advice for freshmen? Okay? Confidence, confidence. Love it. Back to you, animal that you are most scared of.

Emily Krampitz  13:27
I don't like spiders. I really don't like spiders. Spiders. Okay,

Ashley Stover  13:32
um, alligator.

Lonnie Preis  13:35
Have you seen one? Yeah, at a zoo. Oh, not, not out in the live okay. You have a hot dog. What are you putting on your hot dog?

Emily Krampitz  13:44
Ketchup, mayo. No, not mayo. I mean mustard, relish and onion.

Lonnie Preis  13:49
Mayo would have been a new one. We haven't had Mayo yet. I love it. Okay? Your free time. You got two hours, no obligations. What are you doing in your free time? I'm going thrifting. Ooh, thrifting. Love it. Go

Ashley Stover  14:10
paddle boarding. Thrifting.

Lonnie Preis  14:12
Okay, nice. If you could do take one thing from your past and redo it, or maybe try something that you didn't try, so you get a redo, or you can try something that you never tried. What would it

Ashley Stover  14:27
be like? Something like I would like to do,

Lonnie Preis  14:30
yes, that anything Yes, or something from the past that you did and you wish you would have done it differently, or something that you would have liked to try that you never tried, bungee jumping? Oh, you know you can still do that. Would you jump out of a plane? Probably, that's crazy. That's That's crazy. How about you one thing you'd like to redo or try? I

Emily Krampitz  14:58
don't know. That was, like, super adventurous,

Ashley Stover  15:03
something like, on your bucket list?

Lonnie Preis  15:05
Yeah, that's a good way to put it. Oh, I like that. We might change that question, bucket list,

Emily Krampitz  15:10
something on my bucket list.

Unknown Speaker  15:14
I'm really drawing blank here.

Lonnie Preis  15:16
We'll come back to you. I know it's hard. These next questions are pretty fun. I think, okay, quirkiest, oddest, most unique thing about you.

Emily Krampitz  15:28
I'm a Belcher. Oh, yeah, what's a Belcher? Burp?

Lonnie Preis  15:36
I'm not, I don't know if we are you saying yes, I think. How you, can you do it on, on, we won't make you belch on, live. Okay? We will make you do

Ashley Stover  15:48
that surprises me every time.

Lonnie Preis  15:51
It's like, surprising. How about you? Quirky, unique thing about you? What? Have any superstition, you know, as far as like before games, something's a little bit unique, like how, you know, you put on your left sock before your right sock. You do any routines that are little, um,

Ashley Stover  16:18
the only thing coming to my mind is, like before a soccer game, I will go like the night before morning of to go on the field, to get touches and like, relaxes your mind. You know, I

Lonnie Preis  16:29
like it. Love it. So that can be anytime, whenever you have an opening, you can go out there and do that. Yeah, it doesn't have to be a specific time, all right, good. Weirdest thing you have ever eaten or tried to eat frog legs. Ooh, did you like them?

Ashley Stover  16:45
They were, like, deep fried, so, like, you didn't taste much, yeah, yeah.

Lonnie Preis  16:48
I tried them once, and they weren't deep fry, and they were kind of chewy. I didn't like it,

Emily Krampitz  16:52
similar, but calamari, oh, I felt like I could feel the like, suctions in my throat. I didn't like it,

Lonnie Preis  16:58
yeah, no, that's good. All right, your biggest pet peeve?

Emily Krampitz  17:05
I feel like I have a lot of big pet peeves. Say one is loud chewers.

Lonnie Preis  17:16
I've been called a loud cheer in my day from people in my family. But yep, I know that's one for people. How about you?

Ashley Stover  17:25
Yeah, no, I don't really care to my mind when

Lonnie Preis  17:39
you said it Okay. Three words, three words to describe yourself. How would you describe yourself in just three words?

Speaker 3  17:49
Am I going first? Whoever wants to go first? Outgoing,

Lonnie Preis  17:57
loud and empathetic. Oh, very nice. We have not had empathetic yet on the show. Very good. Ashley, how about you?

Ashley Stover  18:13
Outgoing, adventurous and

Ashley Stover  18:24
her good with on the spot.

Lonnie Preis  18:26
That's okay. This is hard, I know, and I like

Ashley Stover  18:30
them pathetic.

Lonnie Preis  18:31
Okay, is she empathetic? Yeah, okay, I just want to make sure she's not taking you okay. I know that was difficult on the spot. It's probably stuff like I said, stuff that you're like, Okay, when you see that family member, you're at a family gathering, they start grilling you with cool grilling you with questions. That's kind of what we're doing here. So all right, are you guys? You guys consider yourself competitive? Yeah. Okay. All right, we're gonna see what happens here. This is called Showtime. This next segment, our last segment, is called Showtime. You're gonna show us what you know you told us before we started that a topic that you feel like you know a lot about, is restaurants. So what we're going to do is this, this is going to be a challenge against the two of you. We're going to start with you. Emily, you're going to say restaurant. Then we're going to go to you. Ashley, you need to say a restaurant. It has to be different. Okay? And you have three seconds to think of one. Okay? We're going to go back and forth. I would say the record is we had a we had a couple guests on here, and they probably went about a dozen rounds. Oh yeah, we're ready. This is big time. So I'm giving you a couple seconds to think of them. If you repeat a restaurant that someone else said, you lose. I'm gonna count if you have, if you're, if you're like, struggling to think of one, because that will happen sooner than you think. You get three seconds to think of one, or else they'll say, time's up and the other person is the winner. Okay, got it so you are competing on in front of 1000s of people. Here we go. We're gonna start with you the restaurant challenge. Show us what you know.

Speaker 3  19:56
Emily pepinos, pepinos,

Ashley Stover  19:58
Olive Garden. Bob Evans. McDonald's, Culvers, Wendy's

Emily Krampitz  20:02
Burger King, Red Robin, Chipotle Chick

Ashley Stover  20:08
fil A Culvers. Culvers was sad.

Lonnie Preis  20:14
Thank you so much. Shake it up, pound it up, whatever you guys do, very good, very good. That was impressive. Actually, I'd say they're close. They might have they went rapid fire. So I think they were close to what we get. I think you had about 12. You might have had 10, I think, and then you, then you screwed up. That's not bad. That's very good. That's very good. Ladies, I know this has been kind of unique. You didn't know what to expect. We this is kind of a surprise for everybody, but this is the moment that our audience has been waiting for. Our trivia challenge, we asked you guys to come up with a trivia question to ask them. So I'm going to let one of you, Emma, if you want to say it, what is the question related to our women's soccer program? For everybody to hear once you know the answer, once you hear this podcast, email student life@cleary.edu with your answer, the first one that is correct, we'll get a Kylie talk to me. Jimmy John's gift card. Jimmy John's gift card. Oh, get after it. I love it. Okay, let's share the trivia question.

Emily Krampitz  21:17
All right. Our trivia question is, who was the first goal scorer for this season.

Lonnie Preis  21:23
First goal scored for the women's team for this fall season, in the very first first game, first goal you score. Yep, put your answer. Student life@cleary.edu ladies, this has been real exciting, invigorating, whatever. We are going to end this like we started. We're going to pound this table. We're gonna go 123, and we're gonna go roll Cougs on three. All right. Sound good. Did you guys enjoy this? Yeah, this is great. We'll have you again. Maybe you can be in this seat asking some of your teammates some questions. Here we go. You guys ready? Thank you all for coming to be a part of the CU Cougars on page podcast.
